S is for Selene, Greek goddess of the moon.

This is part of a Photoshop Class assignment that we have. Essentially, we have to pick a theme, and then find a magazine picture or draw a drawing for each letter of the alphabet.

I chose the theme: Greek gods and goddesses. Because I love Greek mythology, and I'm stupid enough to draw 26 of them. I'm even taking it one step farther: eventually, I'll have 52 of them drawn to create a full deck of cards. Fun X).

"Even in the eternal night, your smile shines ever so bright."

I made up that quote for the sake of drawing inspiration for Selene... I wanted to try drawing her with an open smile, since I haven't really done that for any non-chibi characters... open smiles scare me.

At first, I wanted to make Selene blue... but I know that I've been overusing blue in this project, and blue would also have made Selene too much like Hecate (not to mention Hecate's already the goddess of the dark moon). Therefore, I asked Lori what color scheme I should go with... and when she mentioned purple, I thought "hey, that might work!" And since purple is the color of royalty... I decided to make Selene look very elegant... kinda. LOL. I don't know if I achieved it or not.

I'm too late for school to write more ^^.
